To help make drop-off easier for both our kiddos and grown-ups, we’d love to see you tonight at our Popsicle Pop-In from 5:00–7:00 PM at the MESD Early Childhood Center.
Come explore your child’s classroom, meet their teacher, and ask any questions you have. The more familiar things feel tonight, the smoother tomorrow will go!
And yes—there will be popsicles.

Dear Early Childhood Center Families,
We are so excited to welcome you and your child to a wonderful new school year at the Early Childhood Center—home of the Little Pintos!
Here are some important upcoming dates and information to help you get ready for the start of school:
Teacher Home Visits:
Your child’s teacher will contact you after July 30 to schedule a home visit, which will take place on August 4 or August 5. These visits are required by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) and are a valuable way for teachers to begin building relationships with families and students. You will also receive important information about your child’s classroom at that time.
Popsicle Pop-in:
Join us for a fun family event on Tuesday, August 5 from 5:00–7:00 PM at the school! Come enjoy a popsicle and meet some of our staff and fellow Little Pinto families.
First Day of School:
School begins on Wednesday, August 6!
School Hours:
Regular Hours: 8:15 AM – 2:45 PM
Early Release Wednesdays: 1:45 PM
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Info:
Drop-Off begins at 8:05 AM in the front of the school.
Please sign your child in and find their name tag, we will use name tags until we know all students and their teacher.
Pick-Up starts at 2:45 PM (1:45 PM on Wednesdays).
Home Visits will provide more information about where to pick up your child (front of the school or teachers back door).
If your child’s dismissal plan changes, please notify the front office and your child's teacher by 2:00 PM (or 1:00 PM on Wednesdays).
Only adults listed on the approved pick-up list (with ID) will be allowed to pick up your child
Transportation:
If your child will be riding the bus, please contact the Transportation Department 505-832-5830 as soon as possible to make arrangements. Please make sure your teacher knows about the bus your plan for pick up and drop off the first day of school.
Your child’s teacher will provide more classroom-specific details during the home visit. If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
